Women Give is announcing a leadership change for 2015 that will bring two new co-presidents to WGSD beginning in the summer. Merle Brodie and Bumni Esho will turn over the reigns to Morgan Justice-Black and Sabrina Martucci Johnson. Seasoned leaders with WGSD since 2011, Morgan and Sabrina are looking forward to working with the 130+ membership on previous and new initiatives that will forward the mission of our organization. As well, Women Give is announcing a new administrator, Jamie Brown, who will work on keeping WGSD running smooth! Check out the information below on who will be leading us.
Morgan Justice-Black has been a member of Women Give San Diego since the spring of 2011 participating in the Grants Team and the Communications Team. Professionally, she has been an integral part of the I Love A Clean San Diego team since joining the organization in 2006. As the Director of Development and Marketing, she is responsible for implementing comprehensive fundraising programs directed at individuals, jurisdictions, corporations and foundations. She also oversees all external communications for ILACSD, including public, government and media relations.
Morgan is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she majored in Environmental Studies and Global Studies. She completed the LEAD San Diego Impact program in 2012 and the Fieldstone Foundation’s Nonprofit Leaders program in 2014.
Her community engagement includes volunteering with the Junior League of San Diego from 2006-2014 where she served in various leadership roles. A lifelong lover of animals, Morgan volunteers weekly with Animal Rescuers Without Borders, where she works to socialize cats up for adoption at their Clairemont Adoption Center. Sabrina Martucci Johnson joined Women Give San Diego in 2011 and has been a co-chair for the Community Engagement Team for the past several years. She is a life sciences executive with a record of achievement in capital formation, business development, and commercial leadership. Sabrina’s unique professional background spans finance, global marketing, and bench research experience.
Sabrina is currently the President of WomanCare Global Trading which includes WomanCare Global’s United States and Global for-profit companies. Global Trading is a specialty pharmaceutical company in the female reproductive healthcare space with commercial product distribution in over 100 countries.
In the community, Sabrina is dedicated to organizations that serve women and girls and promote education. She serves on the YWCA of San Diego County Board of Directors as Vice President and Treasurer, PPPSW Board of Directors as Treasurer, Athena Board of Directors, Tulane University School of Science & Engineering Board of Advisors, University California San Diego Librarian’s Advisory Board, and Project Concern International Audit Committee. She has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the CONNECT Springboard program for entrepreneurs, and has been a Career Horizons Mentor for Just in Time for Foster Youth.
Sabrina has an MIM from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) with honors, a MSc. in Biochemical Engineering from the University of London, University College London, and a BSc. in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Beginning January 12th, WGSD has also just hired our first administrator, Jamie Brown, to stay on top of the day-to-day workings of Women Give. Jamie Brown has worked in the local nonprofit sector for over 15 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University and her M.A. of Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego. She now works from home as a Health Coach and most recently, as the new Women Give San Diego Administrative Contractor.
Jamie lives in Coronado with her husband, 8-year-old stepson, and 1-year-old baby boy, and enjoys nothing more than walking along the boardwalk, grabbing dinner, and super hero movie nights with her boys. She’s excited to support the mission and efforts of WGSD and looks forward to meeting all of you in the near future.
