Join Women Give San Diego for the next Virtual Coffee Connector with MANA de San Diego on Thursday, August 6th, from 9:00AM-10AM. Grab a cup of coffee, join us on Zoom, and learn more about an amazing organization!
MANA de San Diego is dedicated to developing, nurturing and empowering Latina leaders through Education, Leadership Development, Advocacy and Community Service.
Dr. Jenn Gunsaullus, will teach an interactive workshop on how to cultivate mindfulness skills. She’ll guide attendees in identifying patterns that can lead to stress, conflict, or disconnection, and teach tools for reducing stress and improving communication and self-knowledge.
Where do we go from here? How do we get there? What can I do?
Join the conversation on August 20th, 7:00-8:15pm, with leading scholars and #1 Best Sellers, Robin DiAngelo (White Fragility) and Ibram X. Kendi (How to Be An Anti-Racist), facilitated by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Wesley Lowery, as we address the question:
How do we talk about race in a way that unites and strengthens us as a community?
This event is also an opportunity to support A Path Forward, the National Conflict Resolution Center’s (NCRC) comprehensive response to the culture changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic and racial injustice, through a live virtual raise-the-paddle.
NCRC is addressing areas of conflict, emotion, isolation and relationships at home, in school, the workplace and throughout the community. Collective problem solving, community building and deep healing are essential to create a future that is better than before.
A Path Forward will deliver the training, skills and facilitation necessary to rise stronger through the current adversity. For more information and to register, click HERE.
The Mentorship team will be starting a book club focused on today’s issues and the community we serve, including both fiction and non-fiction books. Our kick-off meeting on October 13th at 4pm will be a general membership Zoom event discussing the book Manifesto for a Moral Revolution: Practices to Build a Better World. The internationally acclaimed social activist, entrepreneur and author, Jacqueline Novogratz, will be leading our discussion. She is the founder and CEO of Acumen, a non-profit global venture capital fund whose goal is to use entrepreneurial approaches to address global poverty.
