Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive community, striving to be part of a stronger, more vibrant society that lifts up and works for all women.  Seeking to increase equity-based solutions, we support dignity and hope for all people. We recognize that systemic injustices are both historical and current, and that they have been designed to disenfranchise, disempower, and discriminate against Asian American, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Pacific Islander women, the LGBTQIA community, the ADA community, and other historically under-resourced women. We stand unequivocally against racism, injustice, and inequity – structural roadblocks that have negated involvement by these groups as equally participating and contributing participants in our local and national community. We condemn hate and violence in all forms and stand with those objecting to injustices.

We believe that pursuing racial and gender equity fosters stronger relationships and partnerships that lead to what we desire: for all women and girls to be visible, to thrive, and to experience self-sufficiency and security in equitable communities.

We recognize these are living commitments that require attention, reflection, and continual action, and we welcome suggestions and insights on how we might deliver on them.

Guided by our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team, we will expand and reinforce unconscious bias training and other coaching for our members. Working with Catalyst and our grant and community partners, we will design programming to educate and engage members and the greater community in equity work.

With strategic intent, we are working to ensure that our operating principles, practices structures and grant process create a safer, more supportive and equitable environment for all.

Together, we can create a more equitable and just community. The change begins with us.
